BY DESIGN: TAMPA’S FASHION MARKET
It feels like Tampa’s fashion scene is growing. Several recent runway events have revealed a network of local designers, and some have come together to show off their designs in a more retail-oriented setting at Tampa’s Fashion Market. It’s held in the Santaella building, a place with a long history of hosting creatives. Featured designers include De Johnea Bianca, Melanated Millionaire and Vintage Soul, bringing a mix of original designs and vintage goods. Art and music will contribute to the creative vibe. VERDANT SHOPPING: GREEN MARKETS
One upshot of not really having seasons is that you don’t have to wait for markets that feature plants and produce. Here are two that are also focused on a healthy lifestyle.
The award-winning Indie Flea is going green with a seasonal Green Market, held outdoors at Armature Works. They’ll host vendors offering plants and flowers, organic vegetables, fermented foods and, of course, CBD products. Sponsored by Brick Street Farms, this market will focus on eco-friendly initiatives and a platform for health-conscious services and products. The market runs from January to March and again from October to December. Free. 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday. 1910 N Ola Ave. Tampa. theindieflea.com.
The Living Green Market at the First Unity Spiritual Campus focuses on mind, body and spirit. So consider this when you’re on the hunt for essential oils, crystals, as well as farm fresh produce. It’s held under the purple tent. Free. 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday. 460 46th Ave. N, St. Petersburg.
