About Boelyfe: Like You’ve Never Seen
Marion Starks (born 9/30/1990), known professionally as Boelyfe Jaine, is an American rapper, lyricist, singer, songwriter, and actress. She’s a talented entertainer in the ON THE RISE scene. Born and raised in the lively city of Chicago, Illinois by her mother, Boelyfe Jaine has always been surrounded by the essence of music. She grew up in a modest middle-class home guided by a mother who was a music teacher and by her grandmother who wrote script. Her musical education began at home at an early age by default. Surrounded by so much in-house talent, oftentimes her mother would play the piano while young Marion would sing to the music. Her mother exposed her to singing different types of songs from different music genres which greatly contributes to her love for art. She began writing her own songs at the ripe age of 13. A desire to venture into the music industry was borne out of her realization of how talented she was, and the urge to push that out to the world around her. As she grew into adulthood, Rap/Hip Hop became her true love. She described her type of music in three words with “different, heat, and hard”, and believes that when the new audience is listening to her music, what they’ll feel is unique, the confidence she has in herself brought out the following statement; “it’s very unique for sure”. Her inspiration for her music is dependent on the mood she is, and the happenings around her, an act that is based on her real-life experience and lifestyle.
Recently Boelyfe Jaine teamed up with Saint Soprano and signed a deal with Black Forbes List Entertainment where he serves as CEO. Her thanks and gratitude go to almighty God for making her dreams a reality so far and Saint Soprano for being the first person to give her the shot for her passion. Her immediate career goal is to be at the higher level, “the only way from here is up” as she rightly put it. At the driver’s seat of her creative control, steering it to her desired destination, how far and well it goes is dependent on her will. While everyone and almost all the sectors are feeling the heat of the Covid Pandemic in their economic life, hers is different, because she never stopped working. Despite working a full-time job in Chicago, Boelyfe Jaine is a full-time artist and is creating new material, networking, making appearances, and doing live performances. Her songs Somethin Outta Nothin, Fell In Love, and Late Night ft. Saint Soprano has videos on YouTube and her energy on them shows the makings of a star. The type of image her music conveys is the image of a female coming up from the cold streets of Chicago. She goes about with the image because it was the image that chose her rather than her chosen image. Right now she’s on GO and says the biggest challenge for her in the past has been not having enough time to travel outside of her job. However, as her popularity increases more travel dates are being discussed which is exciting. As the release date of her new upcoming single, “Gutta” is eagerly anticipated, plans of performances in Chicago, IL, and Atlanta, Ga are being made along with more media coverage to boot. To Boelyfe Jaine, she believes that as long as you are dropping good music, showing your audience what they are missing, you’ll always have their support and presence when it comes to live performances and record sales.
Boelyfe Jaine is ready to take on the world. She’s not afraid or intimidated by the politics involved in the music industry and hopes to one day make a difference in that industry and bring about change as far as how women are viewed and heard in it. One of the things she hopes to see change is “respect” levels. She’ll like the female musicians to be afforded the same level of respect as their male counterparts. Things won’t change overnight but she is in the right internal environment where she is well respected and supported by her team; from her label to her street team to her fans. Her songs and videos show not only that her voice is wonderful and that she is beautiful, but also that she is a BOSS and a force to be reckoned with. Introducing to some and presenting to others, she answers the question “Who Is Boelyfe Jaine?” in her first exclusive written interview with On The Rise Magazine.
