CHUBBY M: Well, I am a father first and artist second. Born and raised in north Philadelphia and I began rapping rurally around 1995 – 1996. It’s 2012 so that goes to show you I’m no push over, I’m a true veteran. I started out battling guys in Philly before the DVD wave hit. VHS was still around. Over the years I grew into my element as a artist, and pursued a career as a rap artist! The streets played a big part in my career because of course, it’s where the name is from, and montegaaaaa! “Real Relate Sucka Hate” that’s why I keep pushing!
N.A.B.: Tegatown hosted by DJ Damage is your latest mix tape, correct? When was the release date? How was the turnaround thus far? Elaborate some on that.
CHUBBY M: Correct! The mix tape didn’t really hit the streets yet, but it’s online on datpiff.com on the werunthestreets site and it’s highly anticipated by the streets! Tegatown is a town where I’m from. It’s not made up it’s something that was branded throughout the north Philly streets, where I reside. I am also the creator of Tegatown, so when u think of Tegatown don’t assume it’s some imaginary place. This mix tape is like a re-introduction of Chubby Montega. Tegatown as of now is being viewed streamed and downloaded on datpiff.
N.A.B.: What would say is the highlight of your music career?
CHUBBY M: Everyday is a highlight of my music career. I get to witnesses the natural reaction of the people’s feedback. Also, I’m developing fans in the same token!
N.A.B.: How do you go about finding producers that can master your sound?
CHUBBY M: Well I have the greatest engineer in the world that goes by the name, Strongarms aka Lemont Patterson. He produces most of my music and masters all of my music. Otherwise, producers reach out to me in most cases!
N.A.B.: Explain the run down in regards to Elegant Hoodness Musical Program. As far as their business adequate, etc?
CHUBBY M: The Elegant Hoodness Musical Program is a great program for underground artist who are trying to take their show on the road; and get to the next level in their career. They give the chances and fulfill those goals, that can never be reach as a underground independent artist. Anyone who needs that extra push look into this program it’s a great opportunity!
N.A.B.: Elaborate on your present and future goals.
CHUBBY M: I want to make Chubby Montega a household name and make timeless music so that a100 years from now the will still are able to remember, who I am and who I was! Montegaaaa!
