Def Knock is a Local Denver, CO Hip Hop band, The band members include MC big house, Dino, Cameron, Ace, Brian (that is on drums) and Curtis (that is on the Guitar). I had the Opportunity and privilege to sit down with the band at one of their recent events which just so happened to be their t-shirt release party @ Local 46; a really dope club that is in the Lakewood, CO area.
Def knock is what we need in today’s music in my opinion. Being that music has such a huge impact on society, we need more artists that have a positive, meaningful and, relatable messages behind their work. I’m in no way saying that we don’t have any but come on, let’s be real; a lot of today’s music is just wack!! Def knock’s music is not only dope, but also have inspirational personal lives.
Behind the scenes Dino is an employee of Denver Public Schools, and Cameron is a single Father of son with Autism. Look right there: these are two men of our community from different backgrounds but came together to do music. MC Big House has been in the music industry for over 25 years and enjoys the freedom that music gives him, and you can hear the freedom in his flow. What is a band without drums and a Guitar player? I didn’t get a chance to sit with Brian but i did get to chat with Curtis for a little bit and let me tell you ladies out there he is soooooo Cute!!!! He said that it feels like he is talking when he playing the guitar. Then we come to the man with the plan, Ace. He is not just a member of the band but he orchestrates the band and it’s not a bad thing either. See, Ace has taken the time to learn the science behind music and we all know when you have an understanding of something, it follows lovely and in harmony. He also is the one that designed the band T- Shirts that are Going for $20!!
So again I say that this is the band that we can use in today’s music. They are on the rise!!! Please don’t take it from my outlook; go listen to their music and attend one of the shows and get the whole Def Knock Experience!! I want to send love and light to the band and huge thank you for being the first band to let me shine my light on!! I’m so humble for this opportunity and I can’t wait to see where we are all at this time next year!!
