What an eventful day indeed! All were present at Boss Lady’s office, attentive and ready for their day’s plans to unfold. “We are providing a one of a kind experience,” Boss Lady, synonymously known as Attica Lundy Cooper, explained to her troops. Amongst the group of independent artists were Cadence, the songstress with the angelic voice, Young Lock, the blazin lyricist, he spits hot fiyah in the winter, M-1 Muzik, part rapper – part media mogul in the making, I Feel Ya, the female rap queen on the roster, a secret weapon with many talents, and of course, Almighty Philly Blocks, The Confirmation. This was the introduction. This was the first full day of On the Rise Magazine’s 4th quarter 2014 media tour, The Risen Experience.
Months of orchestrating and preparation produced great plans for the Project Risen artists. Attica Lundy Cooper led the initial meeting. She covered the normal and standard protocol and procedures for the day’s events. On the agenda was a media day, dressed with all the bells and bows like a gift. The media day was scheduled to feature: Spin Doctor’s Inc. coordinator, DJ Trini, After Money Entertainment C.E.O. Sequel Phillips, Its- A- Go DJs C.E.O., Dj Such-n-Such. The topics were “The Importance of Internet Radio to Today’s Artist”, “A Promoter’s Perspective on Building a Solid Physical Fan Base”, and “What it Takes to for My Record to Break”. There was a lot opportunity in this meeting, so Atlanta’s Hottest Publicist Attica Lundy Cooper made sure she prepped the crew before sending them on their journey.
The destination was 784 Cascade Ave. Atlanta, GA., where written on the wall was the word ‘Inspyred’. The atmosphere was amazing and the energy was bold. The scene was intimate and colorful. The red door opened and the sweetest lady answered! “I’m Ms. Gwen, King D’s mother.” Wow! The energy was warm and familiar and everyone felt it. Ice breakers and introductions came naturally and we all knew we were amongst family. King D, Celebrity stylist and hair majician was so hospitable, he catered to our needs, making sure our function ran smoothly. “WOW!” That’s the only way to describe the atmosphere.
Questions poured into our professionals from our Project Risen artists. How do you monetize your views, downloads, and plays was a major topic. Everyone wants to know how to get money doing what they love to do. Our panelists provided meaningful and helpful information that would stick with our clients. We followed with photos, exchange of marketing materials, and chats of future endeavors. The meeting was solid. The importance of networking was made evident through the media day.
A fast lifestyle is one thing a lot of artists think they are ready for, but in the end tight schedules and deadlines can sometimes be a turn off. For our Project Risen artists, integral lessons are learned through hands on interaction coordinated by On The Rise Magazine to prepare them for polished success.
From media events to performances, timing was everything, especially for perfectionist, Cadence. As the Headlining act at Author and Entrepreneur, Nicholas ‘Redd’ Scott Sr.’s book release and signing party, Cadence turned the show up and made her presence known. Performing Alicia Keys’ “Unthinkable”, her melodic chords sent high vibration chills through everyone in the building. Her team supported her in the crowd, forming a known presence. The energy was captivating and Cadence killed her first show in Atlanta!
The night ended smoothly as the team followed caravan style to the studio for a late night session. Off to J-Bo’s lab for those certified “Beat Attikz” Productions! The team was so highly motivated by the day that they ended up vibing to concepts and creating an all-out jam session which will surely produce several hits. Beats purchased, connections created, performance perfected, and investments made, The Project Risen experience proves it is one of a kind. Each day our artists come closer and closer to their goal! I can’t wait to tell you how our trip to Macon goes! We love making moves!
