With the growing popularity as a DJ, DJ Aaries has managed to be a part of BET’s “Rap City” multiple times and is one of the new faces of Rocawear with the “I Will Not Lose” campaign. DJ Aaries is the FOUNDER of the DJ crew HOOD HARD HITMAKERS which was started in 2006. Since starting the crew the numbers have grown to 150+ DJs all over the South East. DJ Aaries is also the SEA 2009 Impact DJ of the South & has been nominated #1 DJ in the South for the past 3years, Hood Hard DJs have been nominated #1 DJ Crew in the South for the past 2 years. He also started “Hood Hard TV,” which currently airs in eight markets and the internet. The show is based around providing advice to artists and in a sense is similar to the classic TV show “Yo! MTV Raps.” He also co-organized with Word On The Streets Magazine the “Hood Hard Day Conference,” which is free to DJ’s and Media. The conference has had attendees such as DJ Kid Capri, Remy Martin,E. Mason, Mr Collipark, and Wendy Day. DJ Aaries also takes enormous pride in creating the Hood Hard DJ’s, an alliance of 150+ DJ’s. They do not service music like record pools, but actually are more hands on with artists. To date the group has had their hands on in breaking artists like Kstylis, Jody Breeze,B.o.B., Young LA, Travis Porter, V.I.C., Nappy Roots, Blackowned C-Bone & Vistoso Bosses just to name a FEW.
There’s a video on YouTube that is called “DJ Aaries Speaks“. I found it while doing the necessary research on DJ Aaries because he appeared as a guest record breaker dj for my radio segment. When I received his information via email, it included two songs. My husband had heard one of the songs before that DJ Aaries was presenting for the show, but I’d never heard it. After hearing the song LIVE on the air of my show, which is typically the first time I’ll hear a song, I asked DJ Aaries about it because I immediately liked it, and was astonished the artist was only fifteen years old. Initially I thought the song was by the producer MetroBoomin, but it’s actually by a fifteen year old artist named Havi. What a small world! It’s the same song and the same artist that my husband already was listening to on his playlist, and we’re not even in Atlanta where DJ Aaries and the artist Havi are located. Looking at the video “DJ Aaries Speaks” really opened my eyes to the story behind the friend I’ve had since the olden days even before he and my other friend BlackOwned C-Bone hosted a listening party at Stankonia Studios in Atlanta, Georgia in 2010 and the man who founded the Hood Hard Hitmakers .
With such diversity in projects, it’s no wonder this Boss (who has a degree in early childhood education) is qualified to bring on the wisdom and teach a thing or two beyond the 1’s and 2’s. Aside of music, I love that the Hood Hard Hittmakers reaches beyond the walls of the dj booth. In 2011 World Famous DJ Shon had a HOOD HARD FILMS video up on youtube called Twerk Session Vol 2 Hosted By DJ Aaries & DJ Shon #HoodHardHitmakers TV Commercial proving that very same point (music, film, hosting, marketing, etc). Multitalented is coincidence to the God given gifts that DJ Aaries has of creating marketing genius; something greatly needed when breaking records. When you see the HOOD HARD name, you expect “out of the box”. And that’s what you get.
I love his vibe and his energy. Ms. J, On The Rise Magazine’s Art Director and editor booked him for our radio station. On April 6, 2016 DJ Aaries made an appearance on Attica Lundy PR’s On The Rise Radio’s “Record Breaker Wednesdays”. It felt wonderful having him on the show, as typically I’m attending one of his events. In addition to presenting Havi’s song “Metro Boomin”, he also presented “Pull Up And Flex” by Shaady (which Ms. J absolutly loved!) . These two songs are high on the Hood Hard Hitmakers song list.
