Event Review

Edgewood Avenue it is! The Cool Club and Schweinbeck LLC hosted a Q&A discussion and Open Mic event, The Fan Base. An event catered to artist, DJs, producers, influencers and lovers of music and hip-hop culture. It was hosted at The Department Store, filled with warm vibes, chilled with dim lights and way up with music by DJ Mike Mars.
As the venue filled, you see cameras flashing and clusters of music lovers smiling, networking, and genuinely hungry for new music, ideas and contacts. The Fan Base was all about a panel of greats with names like Wendy Day, Stix Malone, Nick Love, DJ Pretty Boy Tank and few others giving insight on what it takes to get a music career running smooth and in the right direction. Topics were introduced by host, Fort Knox, like ” When management is needed,” “What A&Rs and DJs look for in the next hot artist,” down to their “Favorite major artist to work with” (with reasons) were covered.
The panel was diverse in that from left to right each contributor worked with artists at different levels in their career. Some wanting to step in right at ground level while others expertise was creating big opportunities for artist that already had things established. DJ Pretty Boy Tank (far left), stated to Wendy Day (far right) while laughing, “I like to get artist at level -1.”  Wendy Day specializes in management and helping artists monetize their careers.
The discussion between host, audience and panel lasted about a little over an hour before Mike Mars was back on the tables, allowing for the artist, bloggers, DJs and etc to enter the stage and connect with whomever on the panel they felt was necessary for said project/intent. You definitely had to be quick!
The Open Mic segment was a great showcase of artists from all parts of Atlanta, several artist from Alabama and even an artist from Dallas,TX! All with one shot at the #1 spot with prizes to include: two studio hours at MAD studios, two blog placements, blast on ATL Top 20 and a free slot at the next show. Herman Shockley hosted this part of the event, keeping the crowd hype and ushering in each artist. Anyone that attended this event came out with something! Whether it was a new contact, a new favorite song or a new idea on their music career. I know I did! Stay tuned here for the winner announcement and more from The Cool Club and Schweinbeck LLC.”FB_IMG_1433481242370
